Membership in the Florence Lions Club

Membership in the Florence Lions Club can be a rewarding experience for any adult within the Northern Kentucky community who feels a need to help the less fortunate, primarily with eye care assistance. FOr over fifty years, the Florence Lions have provided assistance to thousands of children and adults who are not able to obtain eye examinations and/or glasses for financial reasons.

The Florence Club has received tremendous community support over the years and is fortunate to be able to provide help to a number of local charities not related to eyesight. These services require participation and a lot of work by the members...but there's a great sense of commitment that joins with excellent spirit and comraderie that makes each project enjoyable. We do have a lot of fun working together.

There are a number of meaningful tasks open to the new member. Our Hall Rental is very popular and requires a lot of member support such as setup, cleanup and bartending. Food preparation skills are always welcome not only for special club-sponsored events but for our meeting dinners as well.

Traditionally, membership in the club has been by invitation...however, if you would like to become a part of this great service organization please contact us. Your acceptance into the club will require your attendance at two meetings, your assertion that you would like to become a member, the completion of an application for membership and, thereafter, a positive vote by the club's Board of Directors.

Membership is granted to both men and women equally. The minimum age is 18.

Lions Clubs International is a worldwide charitible organization made up of community clubs of all-volunteer individuals, like yourself, who donate whatever time they can in an organized effort to help change the lives of people in need both on a local level as well as throughout the world. Our foremost objective is to promote healthy eyesight for fellow community members who cannot financially provide for themselves. Where possible, Lions Clubs also assist with other charities and organizations such as Special Olympics, youth programs and many others. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

So give it some thought. Lions International is the largest service club in the world. Think about being able to join with others to truly help improve lives of the less fortunate.
